Summer Kitchen "Before and After"

One of the great things about living in Florida is that we have year round use of our outdoor spaces.
Recently we started working with a client to transform his patio into an outdoor space in which he could entertain in.

This is the patio "before". The original summer kitchen that he had was built back in the 90's and featured laminate cabinets that had warped and would not properly close.

The patio "after".

The old sink area was removed, instead of using cabinets outside we elected to use a stacked stone with stainless steel cabinets and appliances. The new countertops are granite. We used a glass tile on the back wall.

On the ceiling we added cypress and had it stained to tie into the tile and the stone creating a warm and inviting atmosphere to entertain in. The carpenter built a soffit so our electrician could add three pendant lights above the bar area.

By adding the bar we created seating for three.

The old grill was a free standing. The new grill is built in and has storage below.

The stacked stone creates a warm look and will also stand the test of time in the Florida heat.

The outside patio area was painted also tying back into the colors of the stone.

When working with a glass tile always remember to use a non-sanded grout.

Our thanks go out to our team that worked on this project:

Cypress Ceiling - 1st Choice Door and Millwork
Glass Tile Wall - Rudy and Ray Perez
